Angela McDearmid, Optometrist
Angela is the owner of the practice. Angela was born in Hartlepool and graduated from Bradford University in 1977 with a First Class Honours Degree in Optometry. Angela has spent all her working life providing Optometry services to the people of Redcar and the surrounding area and has supervised 3 pre –registered optometrists in their postgraduate year, helping them on their way to full registration. She is registered with the G.O.C, is a foundation fellow of the British College of Optometrists, member of the Association of Optometrists, British Contact Lens Association and the North East Contact Lens Society. She is married to Neil and has two daughters. Other interests are horses and dancing.
Chris Smith, Practice Manager
Chris has worked in optics all her working life. She has worked alongside Angela since 1990 when Angela became the sole owner of the practice. In 2000, she was awarded The Clinical Optometric Assistants Diploma of Credit from Anglia Polytechnic University. She is married to Jim and has two daughters who now live in Leeds and Edinburgh. She is an avid reader of true crime novels, loves travelling and is a keen skier.
Kristina Krancioch Daniel, Optometrist
Kristina studied optometry at Bradford University, graduated with a 2:1BscHons in 2003 and joined the practice in her post graduate year. She is registered with the G.O.C and is a member of the British College of Optometrists. She now works for us on a part time basis .She married Phil in 2005, lives in Hartlepool and enjoys travelling.
Sue Denny, Optical Assistant
Sue joined the practice in January 2007, having relocated to the North East from Preston in Lancashire. She has worked in optical practice since 2005 and since joining the team has studied for and been awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Practice Support from the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers. She is married to Maurice, has two stepdaughters and a grandson. Her hobbies include exercise and holidays in the sun.
Jennifer Craig, Optical Assistant
Jennifer joined the practice in March 2007 .Having previously worked in an office; she is now enjoying her role as Optical Assistant. She is currently studying for her Level 2 Certificate in Practice Support with the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers and is keen to further her career to become a Dispensing Optician. She lives at home with her parents in Redcar and has a sister, Gina, in Leeds. Away from work she enjoys socialising, watching old movies and playing squash.
